Pinegrove

Located in the historic Town of La Plata, this master-planned community is situated among 1,021 tranquil acres of streams and forest. Once built out, the Pinegrove development will include 3,170 dwelling units comprised of single-family houses, townhomes, and duplexes, as well as commercial, retail, office, and industrial uses. This community features streams and forests, nature walking and biking trails, a pool, dog park, green spaces, and tot lots.

GTA is performing subsurface exploration, laboratory testing, geotechnical analysis, and construction observation and testing (COT) services. Significant portions of the project site were underlain by existing fills resulting from prior disturbance and/or challenging native conditions including soft/loose surficial soils and shallow groundwater. GTA worked with the client and design team to evaluate these conditions and provided recommendations to mitigate them during construction.

GTA’s COT services have included observation and testing for site grading (including the evaluation and mitigation of challenging subsurface conditions), utility construction, subgrade soils, soil cement, cast-in-place concrete, culverts, retaining walls, bituminous concrete, and stormwater management facilities.
