We are pleased to announce that Bruce E. Burgess, III, has been promoted to Associate of GTA!

As an Associate with more than 10 years of experience in the fields of geotechnical engineering and construction observation and testing (COT), Bruce Burgess is responsible for client relations, project management, and overseeing day-to-day operations within the COT department for a variety of residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial projects in New Jersey and New York.

His technical areas of expertise include subsurface explorations, existing fill assessments and ground improvements, placement of controlled compacted fill, reinforcing steel observations and subsequent concrete and grout placement, structural steel connections, retaining wall construction, underground utilities, and asphalt paving. He also oversees laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt following ASTM and AASHTO standards and provides training and mentoring to GTA Field Engineering and Laboratory Technicians.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Rowan University and holds certifications through the American Concrete Institute, International Code Council, and New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.   He is on the Ocean County College Engineering Advisory Committee and is an Industry Patron to the Concrete Industry Management Program at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Bruce is also a member of the Shore Builders Association of Central New Jersey, New Jersey Builders Association, NAIOP New Jersey, and multiple New Jersey Chambers of Commerce.

Bruce is currently managing COT services for several retail and commercial, residential community, and multi-family apartment building projects in New Jersey.
