About
This new 151,958-SF elementary school, which accommodates 1,200-students, was honored as a 2019 ENR MidAtlantic Best Projects winner in the K-12 Education category.
GTA’s services on this $35.4M project include performing 12 Cone Penetration Test soundings to depths of 15 to 25 feet below existing grades and 14 Stand Penetration Test borings with depths of up to 10 feet below existing grades to characterize the general subsurface conditions, as well as borehole infiltrometer testing at 14 locations to evaluate infiltration rates of the subsoils. GTA performed laboratory testing, and prepared a geotechnical engineering report summarizing the results of our field exploration, laboratory analysis, and our geotechnical design and construction recommendations regarding foundation support, slab support, earthwork, subsurface utilities, lateral earth pressures, pavement design, and stormwater management.
Additionally, GTA provided construction observation and testing services including site grading, subgrade soils and utility construction; bituminous concrete pavement; laboratory testing; structural steel; and engineering consultation.
