AJ DAVIS PROMOTED TO ASSOCIATE

David (AJ) Davis is a licensed professional geologist in Pennsylvania and Delaware with 15 years of broad and varied field experience in the construction observation, material testing, and geotechnical engineering fields. He joined GTA’s Quakertown office in 2016 and currently manages construction observation and testing (COT) services for residential, commercial, industrial, municipal, department of transportation, and energy sector clients throughout eastern Pennsylvania. His areas of specialization include, shallow, intermediate and deep foundation systems, ground improvement, soil stabilization, retaining wall construction, sinkhole stabilization, paving construction and special inspections for vertical construction. As an Associate with GTA he is responsible for mentoring and providing training to junior staff members, interviewing, hiring, business development and overseeing the daily field operations for the Quakertown COT department.

AJ graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, in 2017. Professional organizations which AJ is active include: COT Committee Member of the Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA); Greater Reading Chamber Alliance; American Builders and Contractors (ABC), Lehigh Valley and Keystone Chapters; Geological Institute; and Pennsylvania Council of Professional Geologists.

AJ is currently managing projects for e-commerce and industrial warehousing, hospitals, commercial properties and multi-family apartment buildings in eastern Pennsylvania. He is also in the process of pursuing a Master’s degree in Geological Engineering and preparing for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.

AJ is dedicated outside of work as well, volunteering with several youth sports organizations as a football, baseball, and basketball coach for the Harleysville Youth Football Organization, Boyertown Optimist Travel Baseball, and the Intercounty Youth Basketball Association.
